Go Down Already! 4 Sure Signs You Need New Toilets

About Me
Working With Plumbers

It isn't always easy to identify what kinds of problems exist in your home, especially if you are new to home ownership. However, a few months back, I realized that we had some serious plumbing problems that needed to be addressed. Our sinks were always clogging and we were constantly having issues with sewer smells in our place, so I started focusing more seriously on working with a team of plumbers. When the experts came out, they had ideas about how to proceed right away, and they worked hard to help us. Now, our home is gorgeous and completely functional, and we owe it all to them. Go Down Already! 4 Sure Signs You Need New Toilets

If you haven't been paying much attention to your toilets lately, it's time to start. Your toilets might be trying to tell you that it's time for a replacement. You might think that your toilets will last for as long as your house does, but that's not actually true. The fact is that toilets wear out and need to be replaced from time to time. Take a look at the list below. If you're experiencing any of these issues, it's time to talk to your plumber about replacing your toilets.

1. You've got Puddles Around the Toilet

When it comes to your toilets, one of the quickest ways to tell if they need to be replaced is to look at the floor; specifically around the base of the toilet. If you've got puddles of water forming around the base of your toilets on a regular basis, it's time to have them replaced. In most cases, the puddles indicate that the wax ring and inner gaskets of the toilets are wearing out.

2. You Need two Flushes for Everything

Toilets can't always process a large bowel movement. For those moments, it's not uncommon for your toilets to require multiple flushes to remove all the solid waste and toilet paper. You might even need to use a plunger to get all of the bowel movement down the drain. However, if you need multiple flushes to clear urine and small amounts of toilet paper, you need to start planning for the replacement of your toilets. This is particularly true if your plumber has ruled out a sewer line clog.

3. Your Toilet Won't Tighten to the Base

If your toilets wiggle and wobble each time you sit down to relieve yourself, and you can't seem to get the bolts tight enough to hold them in place, you need new toilets. Not only are wobbly toilets a nuisance, they can become a safety risk, especially if they tip of their base when you're in the seated position. If your toilets are no longer secure, it's time to replace them.

4. You Can't Scrape Off the Mineral Deposits

If the hard water in your home has left mineral deposits in your toilets that you can't get rid of, talk to your plumber about replacements. Mineral deposits in your toilets leave them looking dirty and downright unpleasant. Not only that, but if you have mineral deposits in the toilet bowl, chances are good that they're below the surface as well. Mineral deposits inside the toilet drains can lead to clogs.

Don't live with problem toilets. If you're dealing with any of the problems described above, you need new toilets. Contact a company, like Cox Construction & Plumbing, for help.
